The phrase "Practice Makes Perfect" is particularly appropriate for TRID implementation where there has not been a lot of opportunities for real life experience with the new Closing Disclosure Forms. At this point we are 3 days away from TRID Implementation and I would encourage you to start getting familiar with the forms in E-Closing, if you haven't already.
The best way to do this is to create a few practice files using the new Closing Disclosure.
On the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau's website there are a few completed samples of the Closing Disclosures which you can download here. href="http://www.consumerfinance.gov/regulatory-implementation/tila-respa
I would recommend printing out these forms and then creating a new file in E-Closing to replicate these forms. To assign the Closing Disclosure to a new file you can simply select Closing Disclosure from the HUD Type drop-down menu on the create file screen. You will find that the data entry process for all of your Maintain File data is unchanged and the data will carry over to the appropriate sections of the CD.
One last thought. If you are planning on attending the ALTA Annual Convention in Boston on October 8th and 9th, please stop by our booth in the exhibitor area to visit with Marc Hall and Kurt Ott. You will also have the opportunity to meet with Sharon Chase and Alyssa Lemay in the TRID Solutions Center who will be answering questions about TRID Implementation. Good Luck and check back here for our next TRID TIP.
