Now, everyone will see the same list of endorsements, regardless if you are using the Integration or not!

New + Improved
- Title Insurance Remit Report - Previously, we added an enhancement to show the check number on the Title Insurance Remit Report, so you could easily see which files you already posted checks for. However, this was not showing Consolidated Checks or Wires. We added this information for you. If you don’t know about the Consolidated Checks and Wires feature, please reach out to Support who will gladly help you!
- Late Days - On the Financial Information Screen, there is a field labeled “Late Days”. We defaulted this to 15, but you could change it on a file by file basis, if needed. You asked for an easier way to do this if certain Lenders you are always having to change the days. Now, there is a field in the Lender Rolodex where you can change the default. We still will default this value to 15 but if you need it to be, for example, 10, you can change it in the Lender Rolodex and it will apply to all future files with that Lender!
- Wire Number Increase - We were made aware that Federal Reference Numbers were coming in at 22 characters now and the Wire Field was limited to only 20. We have increased this field to allow 30 characters.
- Shipping Labels - Previously, if you generated a Shipping Label and 24 hours had passed and you needed to delete it, you had to call Support. Don’t get us wrong, we LOVE talking with you, but we feel your time can be better spent. Therefore, we have removed this restriction.
- Closing Portal Logo - We have made an enhancement to uploading a Closing Portal Logo. Previously, the image you were uploading had to be a certain size and if it was outside of those parameters, you received an error message. Now, we will automatically resize it for you, if the image is too large. Don’t know about the Closing Portal? Check out our Help Center for information or reach out to Support! It’s a pretty neat feature, if we do say so ourselves.
- Patriot Search Classic - On the file summary screen there is a button to search all buyers and sellers in OFAC and other sanction’s list, just click on the button to see the results! Plus, you can search any name in multiple databases super quick!

You will now see a Loan Type called Seller Held Financing, and when selected we will automatically select a Lender called Seller Held Financing. Once selected on the Lender Information Screen, and you add the Loan Amount on the Financial Information Screen, we will create a payoff for you for the Loan Amount and automatically net fund it in Escrow for you! Also, when you generate documents, we will convert “Seller Held Financing” to be the Seller Names. If you change the Loan Amount or the Seller Names, the system will automatically update for you! We truly hope you are as excited about this enhancement as we are!

May 3, 2021
New + Improved
- Letterhead and Footer - Did you add a letterhead or footer and didn’t mean to? Now you can easily delete them! Just click the little trash can and verify you want to delete it and boom, it’s gone!
- Primary Borrower and Seller - When you create a new Borrower or Seller, the first record will default to Primary and will not allow you to change it. The following Borrower or Seller Records you add, will then default to Co, but if you change them to Primary, we will automatically update the current Primary Borrower/Seller to Co. We did this because sometimes single records were being created as Co and there were no Primary records on the file, and this was causing issues on Documents and 1099 Reporting.
- Envelope on File Summary - Some of you may have noticed that if you clicked the Envelope on File Summary to send a Message to the Portal, then went to send another one, you had to refresh the File Summary Page to get a new message. We have resolved this, so you no longer have to refresh the screen! One less click for you.
- PA Municipalities - Attention all users in Pennsylvania! We have added a Municipalities drop down on the Property Information Screen to allow you to select the Township, Municipality, or Borough the property is located in. Also, you will see a new drop down on the Tax/Fee/Pro-ration Property Record, to allow you to choose if the Property Tax goes to the County or the Municipality selected on the Property Information Screen. We sincerely hope this helps make processing PA files easier!
- FATIC Policy Transmittal Form - The First American Policy Transmittal Form now shows the agents account number!
- Clear Choice and Property Debt Research - Clients can now sort and search by look up number on the Clear Choice and Property Debt Research Whiteboards!
- WFG Short Form Endorsements - When clients generate the short form policy through the WFG integration it will show the endorsements.
- BPO Import with bad characters - Some Fund Members who imported BPO results in to their file may have noticed some of the characters were converted to \. We have resolved this, maintaining the character it came over as (usually ‘,”, or degree symbol)
- Reconciliation Summary Report - You will now see an additional checkbox when you select which Bank Reconciliation Reports you want to generate. Next to the Reconciliation Summary, you will see an option to Include Signature Blocks (Optional) to the bottom of the report. It is not required to sign the reports but is an option if you wish to.
- Overdue Events - You can set your Events up to be marked as overdue if they reach certain criteria for the end date. However, in Shiny it was difficult to see which event(s) were overdue within the file at a glance. Now, when your event(s) are overdue, the font will change to red indicating that one has not been completed yet. We hope this enhancement helps keep you on track in your files!
Coming Soon
- Flexible File Contacts - Many of you have been asking for a way to add different people to a file to be able to email or create as a Portal Contact. We are working on a way to add Additional Participants on a file to help you out! Please stay tuned for future releases!
April 19, 2021
New + Improved
- Agent Fields
It was brought to our attention that in Classic, the Agent and Contact Information was missing on the Seller Information Screen and in Shiny the fields were there, but wouldn’t save the information. This has been resolved, thank you for letting us know! - Zillow App in Portal
When we developed the new Closing Portal, we added the Zillow App to show neighboring homes’ value and other information. It recently stopped working, as a result of Zillow changing something on their end. Temporarily, we have disabled the app. We added a survey on our Shout Out to see how important this feature is to you and your business, please let us know! - File Summary
On Shiny’s File Summary Page, you will now see the Real Estate Agent’s Cell Phone Number displayed. - Notes and Events
You can tie Notes to Events but previously in Shiny, you couldn’t view them. We made a change so that if you add a Note and tie it to an Event, you will see a little icon next to the Event on File Summary. If you click on the Note, you will see what was entered! To tie a Note to an Event, on the Side Nav bar, go to Notes and when you create or edit a note, you can select an Event to tie it to. - WFG Multiple Borrowers on
You can now add as many borrowers (200+) as you want to the CPL if you underwrite with WFG!
Coming Soon
- PA Municipalities We are working on some enhancements when your Property Address is in PA. You’ll be able to select if it is a Township, Municipality or Borough, tell the system who to make payments to, etc. Please stay tuned for future updates.
- Events Whiteboard
The Events Whiteboard in Shiny is getting a newer look. We hope you like the changes! - TRGC CPL & Jackets
Soon users will be able to generate CPL’s and policy jackets through this new integration with Title Resources (TRGC)!
April 5, 2021
New + Improved
- Letterheads and Footers
Previously, when you loaded letterheads and/or footers in the Rolodex, if the file name had a space in it, it would sometimes not bring the image through. This has been resolved. - New Tax Type
We were made aware that as of January 2021, Pittsburgh, PA added a new tax called Parks Tax. We have added this for all users, and it will only show up if the property is in Pittsburgh PA. - Email address
We have now made having an email address a requirement for Users added to the system. If you try to update a User that doesn’t have an email address entered, you will receive an error message that it is required, and you will not be able to proceed until you enter a valid email address.
HUD Defaults This is an exciting update! You now can add effective dates for your HUD Defaults. The Effective Date is based on the File Create Date. We have backdated all current defaults to 1/1/1999 so as to not affect your current defaults and files. If you don’t enter an effective date, you will be prompted to enter one before you can update the screen. You will be allowed to back-date defaults, but you will receive a message that the date is in the past, are you sure you wish to proceed. We hope you enjoy this enhancement and that you try out HUD Default. It is a big time saver! - Closing Portal
We have made some fixes to the Closing Portal, depending on the Role/Business Type a Portal User is and how many files they are tied to, they will see different first screens. Borrowers/Sellers with only one file will see the details page, Loan Processors and Real Estate Agents, if only tied to one file will still see the file selection screen so they can still create new files. Other business types will see the Details page if only tied to one file or the file selection screen if tied to multiple files. - Updated Screens
Shiny users, we’ve given the Copy File page a facelift - same great functionality with a more modern look. Stay tuned for more updated pages. - Notes
Attention Shiny Users! When creating a note, you can now change it to be an Alert. When you do this, every time you access the File Summary Page, the note will pop up! If you no longer need this alert, you can simply edit the Note to be “Note” instead of “Alert”.
Coming Soon
Recording Fee Calculator
We are working on adding a Recording Fee Calculator directly on the HUDs and CD, so you don’t have to use the Ernst Lookup Screen. We are starting with Florida and will work on adding additional states. This will allow you to record and calculate more than just Mortgage and Deed documents.
March 22, 2021
New + Improved
Closing Portal
As mentioned in the previous Release, if you sent a message or document through the Closing Portal, but you didn’t include a message in the Body, it caused an error message on the Portal. We resolved it last Release from Document Management, however we also needed to resolve it when messaging from File Summary. Now, when messaging from File Summary, you will be required to enter something in the body.
Title Insurance Remit
We have made an enhancement to the Title Insurance Remit Screen. Previously, if you entered a Remit Date in the past (let’s use 12/31/2020 as an example), it would pull files with Dates (recording dates) up to present. Now, it will filter out only files with blank dates or recording dates 12/31/2020 and previous.
Notes
Shiny users, when you were entering Notes, if they exceeded 500 characters, it appeared to save, but then would cut off anything more than 500 characters. Now, not only do we have a character count to show you how many characters you have left, but we won’t let you add more than 499 characters.
Updated Screens
Shiny users, we have given Text Description a facelift! (phase one, this screen will be getting an even more exciting update in the future!) You will also see a character count here as well!
CATIC Title Search
We have added MA & RI to the list of states you can order your title search through CATIC! On the Property Information screen click on TOPS CATIC Title Search to place your order. Orders are also returned through the integration.
Coming Soon - Updated Screens!
Shiny users, please stay tuned for updates on the Events Page and Copy File!
March 8, 2021
We have some exciting new features to tell you about! If you have questions about any of the new features, please feel free to reach out to Support and we will be more than happy to assist you!
New + Improved
Title Insurance Remit |
Thanks to your feedback, we added Check Number and Date to the Title Insurance Remit Screen. Now you can easily see which files you have already printed checks for! We love your feedback and suggestion, so please keep them coming! |
Checklists |
We have made creating Checklists a little easier for you! You can now copy existing Checklists to create new ones! There are two ways you can do this. The first is when you go from the Whiteboard to Back Office then go to Events and then Manage Checklist. You will see a list of existing Checklists and then (Copy Checklist Name). If you click on the name in the parenthesis, you will be then taken to the Edit Checklist Screen and you can give it a new name and edit the Events. The second way to do this is click on Create a New Checklist, enter in a new name and in the drop down select which Checklist you wish to copy then click Copy From. Again, you can edit the Events for the new Checklist. |
Escrow Accounting - Net Fund |
Although this is how it was originally programmed, we have realized based on feedback that it was a flaw, so we have resolve it. Originally, if you net funded items to the Lender and then made a change to the Lender, the Interest would become un-net funded. We have updated this functionality where now it won’t cause you an extra click when changes are made. |
Word Doc Editor |
Last Sprint we released the Word Editor and we have made an enhancement to it. By design, this wouldn’t work if the document loaded had spaces in the name. We have resolved it so that when you upload a Word document with spaces in the name, you will now see the icon to edit in Word. |
Check Dates |
We have listened to your feedback and made selecting which Date prints on Checks easier for you. By default, E-Closing will print checks with the Disbursement Date (on Financial Information) unless the Disbursement Date is in the past, at which point, we print the Current Date. If your file cancelled and you had to refund money, you needed to remember to change the Disbursement Date to the Current Date so that the right date printed. In Bank Set up, you can change the default to Disbursement, Close or Current Date and this will apply to all files. However, if you need on a particular file to change this (for instance, you have the default to Disbursement Date, but you need to print the Current Date to refund an EMD), you can do this right on the Print Checks Screen! We hope this makes your lives just a little easier! Please note, you still cannot back date a check, if the Close Date or Disbursement Date is in the past, we still will print the Current Date. |
Closing Portal Documents |
Some users have reported that when you are sending a document through the Portal and forget to add a message in the body, the Portal user gets an error message. We have added some default text in the body of the Email and Portal Message from Document Management, and we will not let you send a message unless something is in the body of the message to prevent this. We will work on adding that improvement to messaging from the File Summary as well, so stay tuned for more updates! |
FATIC Integration |
When a user had ordered title searches through the FATIC integration, but submitted the title policy through AgentNet and not through the integration the user would receive one of two error messages: “(FileNumber not found, please try again. If the problem continues, please call the ASC for assistance (866) 701-3361; or One or more services failed. Please review Service specific errors. | Your Order Id not valid. Contact ASC for assistance (866) 701-3361).” This was because we had a call each time the file was accessed looking for an update for the title search but the status of the file in AgentNet was not longer “Active”. Now, once the file status comes back as not “Active”, the call will no longer be made and there will no longer be a delay on the File Summary or Property Information screen. |
WFG Short Form Jackets |
On the WFG Short Form Loan Jackets, we are now including the time, as this was previously missing. |
PropLogix |
We have added a few more Products you can order through PropLogix! In addition to the ones you currently can order, we have added Survey and Release Tracking. If you aren’t currently using this Integration and would like to, please see E-Closing Connect for details! |
ECDT- Portal Users |
We have made adding new Portal Users within a file much easier for Shiny Users! You will see this icon on the File Summary Screen for any contact in your file that can be a Portal User, but isn’t yet. Simply click on the icon and enter the Email Address and Cell Phone Number. Once you save the changes, the User will get their Welcome Email sent to them and the Icon will show like this |
ECDT- FinCen Notifications |
Attention Shiny users! Previously you did not see a banner at the top of the File Summary Page if the file met FinCen filing requirements. Now, if you have a Cash Purchase over $300,000 in the Cities/Counties required to report, you will see a notice that tells you, you may need to report it. |
Coming Soon
Notary & Signature Blocks |
Custom Notary and Signature blocks are being developed! This will help to resolve issues where you have the Multi-Tier Signatures. Please stay tuned for future Release Notes! |
Multiple loans per file |
We also are in the early stages of Researching and Developing Multiple Loans tied to a file. We have received a lot of feedback that this will be very helpful for you all. |
February 8, 2021
We have some exciting new features to tell you about! If you have questions about any of the new features, please feel free to reach out to Support and we will be more than happy to assist you!
- You asked for it, and we have delivered! We added a Notes Section in the Payoff Master screen, so you can add Notes, like you can with the Lender. You will see a greyed-out icon for each record on the Payoff Information Screen, but it will become active once you enter a Note in Payoff Master. This note then will be visible on the File Summary Screen and also within the Payoff Record itself.
- We have added two new fields for 1099 Reporting! These fields are called 1099 Exempt and Foreign Entity. When selecting 1099 Exempt on the Seller Information Screen for an Individual Seller, they will not get a 1099 form, nor will they be reported on the Submission. This means you can have two sellers with split ownership and only one needs to be reported! If you check off Foreign Entity, this will check Box 5 on the 1099 Form (previously selecting Other/Foreign in the State drop down is what checked this off). We hope these enhancements make 1099 Filing easier for you!
- Shiny users, you will notice two updated screen, Borrower Information and Seller Information! You now can easily enter International Addresses and we added a Forwarding Address for the Borrower! As well, the screens are more organized, we hope you like them!
January 25, 2021
We have some exciting new features to tell you about! If you have questions about any of the new features, please feel free to reach out to Support and we will be more than happy to assist you!
- Previously, if you sent an email with an attachment to the wrong party, you had to call Support to have a request put in to have the link disabled before the recipient was able to open it. We have now given you the ability! On the File Summary Screen, where you see your emails with attachments, you can click “Deactivate Link” and it will confirm if you really want to (this action cannot be undone). It will then indicate it had been deactivated, by who and when.
- Many of you have voted on our Ideas Portal that you would benefit from having an integration with USPS and we have started researching this task! Please stay tuned for future Releases for when we complete this! Visit our community idea board to submit and vote on your favorite ideas. https://e-closing.ideas.aha.io .
- We had another request to change the Bank Activity Report to show the Entity Name on the Bank Activity Report, if they weren’t an Individual. It will now display this way.
- We have made an enhancement regarding the Legal Description and Documents. Sometimes, your legal description is long, and you would rather the section say something like “Please see attached Exhibit A”, which we currently can do, but we couldn’t add the Exhibit A. We now can! We can also not have it generate automatically and allow you to just generate the Exhibit A document on it’s own (if you don’t want or need several Exhibit A documents). For changes to documents, please reach out to Support as a Document Request.
- Fund Members no longer have to provide the Prior Policy if the Prior Policy was with Old Republic National Title Insurance.
- When generating First American Title CPLs, if you have a Second Party, like PCN, you can now select them and have your company information on the CPL as well.
- We also have added Second Party CPL to the Fidelity Companies’ integration as well!
- We have an exciting new feature to tell you about! You can now edit Saved Word Documents and have your changes be saved within the file. This will allow you to more easily edit saved Word Documents and save them back in the file. To use this feature, if you generate any document in Word and have it saved to the File, or if you upload a Word Document to the file, you will see this icon.
Once you click on this, it will open the document in Word and to save the changes back to the file,
simply click on this icon in the top left hand of the Word Document.
Now, whenever you generate, email or message this document to the Portal, it will have your new changes. Please note, this overrides the current copy, so if you want to have a history of changes, you would not want to use this option.

Previously, you had to save it to your computer then upload it. Now, with the click of the save button, it will save for you back in the file! More features like this will be coming in the future, so please stay tuned!
- In Shiny, you will now see your Company Name on the header of your Whiteboard.
- We also have another Lien Search Integration, Clear Choice! Go to Back Office then E-Closing Connect and scroll down to Clear Choice’s icon, click and enter your Log In information! Now, scroll to the bottom and click Update Connections. Go to your Property Information Screen and place an order!

- Stewart has updated their CPL Fee in Virginia effective 11/1/2020 to $35. Any CPL generated via the Integration after 11/1/2020 will put a $35 CPL fee on the CD or HUD.
- We have made an update to the 1099 File Summary Report. We added a column “FWD Addr”, which will indicate if there is a Seller’s Forwarding Address in the file. This is NOT a required field for the E-File Submission.
- When saving documents to a file, you can now save them directly to a folder! When generating documents, if you select under your Company Name under “Message to Portal”, you will then see a drop down appear above to select which folder you want to save this to. You can also select this folder when generating a barcode! You can also set the default package.
- For those in Florida and Connecticut, you can also use the CATIC TOPS (Title Oder Packaging System) integration on the Property Information Screen.

We have made an enhancement with the Formation Entity Field. In the past, we have automatically inserted the verbiage, and if you wanted to change it, you needed to enter it on the Borrower or Seller Information Screen. To allow for more visibility, once you enter the address for the Borrower or Seller, we will populate the verbiage in the field for you. As an example:
**Please note, this only will show for NEW files or files you refresh the Zip Code in**
October 5, 2020
We have some exciting new features to tell you about! If you have questions about any of the new features, please feel free to reach out to Support and we will be more than happy to assist you!
- We will now automatically organize your Branch Product Orders files in a folder named Product Orders, once imported.
- On the Bank Account Register screen, we now will list your last 12 Reconciliation Statement Dates. This way, if the Statement Date was anything other than the last day of the month, you know the exact date of that Statement End Date. If you then click on the date, it will fill in in the Statement Date field so you can then select which reports you want to generate.
- When you Upload Search Results sent to you (in .XML or .PXT format), we now will save the file you uploaded in your Scanned/Saved Documents section. This will allow you to see when they were uploaded and by whom.

- We have made an update to hopefully clarify the “Previous Endorsements” section on the Title Policy Screen. The purpose of this section is to show you what endorsements had been selected previously, if you make a change to the Underwriter, Commitment Effective Date and in some cases, the Jacket Type/Category. We display the endorsements you had previously selected so you can know which ones they were and can check them off again. We changed the display message however to this “WARNING: Endorsements have been charged/checked off twice. Please uncheck the Endorsements that do not apply or are duplicated.”
- For all the Shiny Users, you will see a new card on the File Summary Page called “Integration”. This is where we show integrations like Notary Loop, Safe Escrow and require (curative).

We have some exciting new features to tell you about! If you have questions about any of the new
features, please feel free to reach out to Support and we will be more than happy to assist you!
1) We have an exciting new feature to tell you about! You can now create Folders to organize your
Scanned/Saved documents in! You can create them at the Company Level or on an individual
file. To create Company Wide folders, simply go to the Rolodex for THIS COMPANY. You will
see where you can create new folders. Give it a name (Title Docs) and then select if you want
that Folder to appear for all loan purposes or only Purchases! Hit update at the bottom and now,
when in a file you will see that folder. To add documents there, simply drag and drop them (While
on the Document Management Screen).
You can also make FILE specific folders, if you have a file that needs a little more organizing then
most! Simply go to Document Management within the file and click the + Add Folder button to
create a new one. It will then function the same way, where you just drag and drop to add
documents to that folder.
2) We have made an enhancement to the Boilerplates in Text Description. You can now create
them to pull multiple property addresses. When creating a boilerplate now, you will see “Process
Type”. It will default to NONE, and will work how they have always worked. If you select
“Property”, it will pull one record per property. Please call Support for assistance, if needed!
3) You can now easily search your boilerplates to find the one you need! In the blank box above the
boilerplates, simply type “tax” or whichever words you are looking for, and it will filter them for
you.
4) We have expanded the Search Options to allow you to search by Condo Association and Plat
Book/Page from your Whiteboard. Simply type the Plat Book number/Page and it will search files
with that combination!
5) We added a new field last Sprint, called the Mortgage Contingency Date. We have now added
that as an option to add to your Whiteboard! Simply go to Back Office/Misc Change/Whiteboard
Set up to add the column.
6) On your HUD, GFE HUD and CD, if your file has multiple properties, it will list ‘SEE ADDENDUM”
in the Property Section at the top. You can then generate and attach the document we added
called “Multiple Properties Address Addendum”
June 8, 2020
We have some exciting new features to tell you about! If you have questions about any of the new
features, please feel free to reach out to Support and we will be more than happy to assist you!
1) We have added an enhancement to the Bank Reconciliation Screen. If you have a block of
Checks or Wires that need to be checked off, and don’t want to click each one individually, we
have a fix for that! Simply hold SHIFT, click a checkbox, select another one, and all items in
between the two will become checked off!
2) We are now displaying the hyphen in the Jacket Number on the Title Policy Screen (and
documents) for Old Republic Jacket Numbers.
3) You may have noticed that we added a Multiple Properties feature on the Property Information
Screen. We need YOUR feedback on how to make it even better! Please let us know if you
need the other properties to appear on documents, etc and we will work on improving this great
feature!
4) An enhancement has been made on the Closing Portal. If you have a Borrower or Seller and
they have only one file, we bring them immediately to the “Summary” page of the Portal, as
opposed to the “Select File” screen.
5) Previously, when generating a UPS label, the image was quite large and didn’t fit in the envelope.
We have made it so that it generates smaller, so it will now fit in the shipping envelope.
6) Once you have Remitted your Policy to First American, we will no longer continue to check for
updates on the Property Information Screen, for their Search Orders integration. You will now
see a message that says “ This file is Closed on AgentNet. Log in to AgentNet for more
information”.
7) We have added a Cellphone Field for the Individual Trustees on the Borrower and Seller
Screens.
8) Thanks to some feedback, we added on the Manual Checks/Wires screen two new buttons
“Check All” and “Uncheck All”. This is handy when you have multiple disbursements to the same
payee you need to include in one Wire or one Manual Check.
9) We have added the West Virginia Non-Resident Withholding Tax to the HUD/CD, if the Primary
Seller isn’t a resident of WV. You will now see a checkbox you can select to indicate they are a
Non-Resident, and we will calculate 2.5% of the Seller Proceeds (minus credits) and we also
have the form needed as well.
10) We have added two more Quick Filters, Files Closing in 20 Days and Files Closing in 30 Days.
These work the same as the others, it will filter your Whiteboard to show files closing in 20 or 30
days, and you can also export the list into Excel.
11) You can now enter Realtor Broker Commissions by percentage! You will now see two options,
PCT and AMT. If you select PCT and enter the percentage amount (no % sign needed!), we will
calculate based on the Purchase Price and when you change the purchase price, we will
automatically update the Commission amounts! However, if you get a flat amount, you can select
AMT and enter the dollar amount. We will not update this amount if the purchase price changes.
12) Connecticut has a new second tier “mansion tax” that is added to their State Conveyance Tax.
This applies to residential property only. This will go in to effect on July 1, 2020.
- Conveyance taxes for residential due to the state will now look as follows;
- $800,000.00 or less = .75%
- Portion that exceeds $800,000.00 up to $2,500,00.00 = 1.25%
- Portion that exceeds $2,500,00.00 = 2.25%
13) We have expanded the fields on the Property Screen for Parcel ID and Subdivision. Parcel
ID is now 40 characters and Subdivision is now 70 characters.
14) We have added a Mortgage Contingency Date on the Financial Information Screen.
15) For clients in New Jersey, we have released the Charles Jones Integration, which will allow
you to search for Judgements and perform the Patriot Act Search. More products will be coming
in the future!
16) We also have released the Skyline Lien Search Integration, which you can access on the
Property Information Screen (once you have entered your credentials in E-Closing Connect!)
17) Another exciting integration we have released is the Proplogix Municipal Lien Search
integration. Again, simply add your credentials to E-Closing Connect and voila! Head on over to
the Property Information Screen and start your search!
May 11, 2020
We have some exciting new features to tell you about! If you have questions about any of the new
features, please feel free to reach out to Support and we will be more than happy to assist you!
1) We have added the ability to filter your Whiteboard by some additional Business Types.
Previously you had the options of Teams or Processor, but we have added Processor 2,
Examiner, Attorney or Other Employee.
2) We have added the ability to further customize HUD Defaults, now by County. This way, if you
have certain fees in different areas, you can set Defaults for that specific county.
3) If you use UPS and have negotiated rates with them, the correct charges will now show when you
generate a UPS label.
4) We have added the ability to generate Payoff Letters for Borrower Only, Seller Only or both. This
way, if you are sending the letters through the Portal, you can easily send them to the proper
parties.
5) ECDT Only - When you search for files, if there are multiple files with the criteria, we now will also
include the Borrower/Seller names to more easily distinguish the files.
6) ECDT Only - We have moved Upload File to be under the Documents Section, as this was more
intuitive to have it here, then in Maintain File.
7) If a Closing Portal User is tied to multiple files, they can now search/filter the files they are looking
for by File Number/Close Date/Loan Type/Address. This way, they can just type in the
information pertaining to the file they need and it will get filtered out.
8) ECDT Only - For Fund Policy Upload, we have removed the ability to upload Jackets, as this was
causing issues when sending the Policies through the integration and The Fund doesn’t need the
Jacket.
9) When creating Borrowers or Sellers as Closing Portal users, many of you were getting push back
on acquiring the Borrower’s SSN so we are tying the credentials to the cell phone, as this is still a
required field and should be unique.
10) On the Void Checks Screen, we have also added the ability to void Wires, instead of having to
click on each item in the wire to change it back to a check.
11) In Florida, we have added the ePN Integration for document recording (In BETA testing)
12) When writing with Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, you can now upload your
Policies directly from the Title Policy Screen in E-Closing!
April 6, 2020
We have some exciting new features to tell you about! If you have questions about any of the new
features, please feel free to reach out to Support and we will be more than happy to assist you!
1) For FLORIDA files ONLY – Ernst added some additional questions to calculate the Intangible
Taxes, based on the Jurisdiction the property is located in. For more information, please see
article on our Help Desk here: https://eclosing.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041854651-

2) When printing a Shipping Label with UPS and selecting the option to generate a Return Label,
the Return Label was still be created with the Original Recipient’s Address, not your Company.
This has been resolved so you can now generate a proper return label.

Escrow Detail by File
- We have had numerous requests to condense the Escrow Detail by File so that in most cases it would print on a single page. We've also been asked to change the page orientation from Landscape to Portrait. Both of these changes have been made and we hope you find the new layout of the Escrow Detail by File to be more intuitive and easier to read!
Examiner Field
- We have added a new field called “Examiner”, which can be added under This Company or Settlement Agency, in the Rolodex. You will then be able to select the Examiner when you create a file or under Maintain File/Misc Change. Just like with the other business types, you will be able to email them, assign Events/Tasks, add Examiner to your Whiteboard and see who the Examiner is on the file from the File Summary page.
E-Closing DT User Interface Changes
- We have changed the display name of the documents in the Scanned/Saved changes are to show the title of the document and not the document name.
- Files with overdue events will now be marked on the Whiteboard with a Red background row color.

We have some exciting new features to tell you about! If you have questions about any of the new features, please feel free to reach out to Support and we will be more than happy to assist you!
- For Shiny users, we made a change in how the document names in the “Saved Reports and Uploaded Documents” are being displayed. We now show the actual title of the Document and not file name.
- In Shiny, if you had Events that were set up as Alert When Overdue, the Whiteboard wasn’t properly alerting you, by turning the line red on the Whiteboard. It will now make that file’s line red if an event tied to that file is overdue.
- We hope you like the changes we made to the Escrow Detail by File Report! We changed it to Portrait instead of Landscape, made the Header two columns, removed the last column “Balance”, made the amounts line up better, and any Lender Net Funded items now get included in the top section where it calculates the Lender’s Expected Funds. This should hopefully make this report easier to read!
- We have added a new field called “Examiner”, which can be added under This Company or Settlement Agency. You will then be able to select the Examiner when you create the file or under Maintain File/Misc Change. Just like with the other business types, you will be able to email them, assign Events/Tasks, add Examiner to your Whiteboard and see who the Examiner is on the file from the File Summary page.
- We also added a new field on the Chain of Title Screen “Date Signed” to be able to add the Notary or Acknowledgement Date.
Bug Fixes/Internal
- For Admin users, we have added in the File Sequence Number and the Company Sequence Number on the File Summary Page in Shiny, so we no longer have to change the Page Layouts from Shiny to Classic to get that information.
- If a user didn’t have CPL Credentials entered in E-Closing Connect for Old Republic, they won’t see the Generate CPL or Closing Protection Letter Website Links. Previously they got a box that didn’t provide any information telling them that they didn’t have credentials.
- The Dev team is still hard at work at many Integrations!
- ATIDS
- CATIC Title Search
- ePN (which is in beta testing!)
- ORT Policy Upload
- Skyline Lien Search

We have some exciting new features to tell you about! If you have questions about any of the new
features, please feel free to reach out to Support and we will be more than happy to assist you
1) As noted on our Release Notes icon on January 22nd, we made some enhancements to the Title
Policy page in regards to endorsements.
We have added some enhancements to the Title Policy Page, in regards to the Endorsements.
This was put in effect so that when you change the Commitment Effective Date, Jacket Type (for
some Underwriters) or the Underwriter, you will be notified that the Endorsement List has
changed. If you already had some endorsements checked off, making the above changes
causes the endorsement list to reload and unchecking previously checked endorsements. We
have added two additional alerts to the screen, so you know what endorsements had been
checked off and also a confirmation message when you try to update the screen.
Basically, the way this works is that when you change the Commitment Effective Date, Jacket
Type, or Underwriter, it will display your Old Endorsements like this below the current list of
endorsements:
Also, when you go to update the screen, whether you have checked the new endorsements off or
not, we put a message, asking if you wish to exit the screen. If you select Yes, all previous
endorsements will go away, and hopefully you have remembered to check off the new ones. If
you say No, it will keep you on the page. You will still get the warning message, but as long as
you are satisfied with the endorsements checked off, then you can click Yes.
2) You can now add an Insurance Agent to your Insurance Companies (Hazard, Mortgage or
Flood Insurance). This used to just be a field you would manually type the name, but now you
can add them in the Rolodex and have their name in the drop down, so you don’t have to type it
each time.
3) Here is an exciting new feature! Consolidated Wires! This will be useful for those who need to
combine wires from multiple files, like your Simplifile payments! This functions similarly to
Consolidated Checks. Within your files, click on the disbursements you wish to include in the
Consolidated Wire and change the payment method to Consolidated Check/Wire. Once you are
done, you can now go back to your Whiteboard and go to Escrow Accounting/Consolidated
Checks. Here you can check off all the items you wish to include in a wire (Please note, within
each file, the payee name has to be the same in order for them to be combined together in
Consolidated Check/Wire) and under the Bank Name, you will see a box that says “Make wire
transfer”. This will post the checked items as a wire. Once you post, the screen will refresh, so if
you need to post any others, or print a consolidated check you can.
Bug Fixes/Internal
1) There was an issue with the Forgot Password function. If you used the Forgot Password link
and went to use it again, then you would get a blank page, unless you used a different browser or
cleared your cookies/history/cache. We have implemented a fix so this doesn’t happen any
more.
2) Similar to the issue we fixed last Sprint with the leading spaces before the Borrower or Seller
Names, we have also implemented a fix for Lender/Corporation names as well (Basically,
anything entered in the Rolodex). Now, if you enter a space and then the name, when you leave
the field, the system will automatically remove the space.
3) Our Developers are still hard at work on integrations as well!

- CATIC Title Search

- ORT Policy Upload
- Skyline Lien Search

When you change the Commitment Effective Date, Jacket Type, or Underwriter, it will display your Old Endorsements like this:
Below the list of Endorsements.
Also, when you go to update the screen, whether you have checked the new endorsements off or not, we put a message, asking if you wish to exit the screen. If you select Yes, all previous endorsements will go away, and hopefully you have remembered to check off the new ones. If you say No, it will keep you on the page. You will still get the warning message, but as long as you are satisfied with the endorsements checked off, then you can click Yes.

We have some exciting new features to tell you about! If you have questions about any of the new features, please feel free to reach out to Support and we will be more than happy to assist you!
- When emailing from the File Summary Page in Shiny, users were experiencing an issue where the attachments that were associated with that file, were sometimes not showing up as being available to attach to the email. This issue has been resolved.
- Shiny Users may have noticed when one of their Portal Users messaged them, they didn’t see the Messages Icon on their Whiteboard. This has been resolved, so now you will see an envelope next to the file you have a message that has not been read.
- The refresh icon on the Shiny Whiteboard now more accurately changes colors, indicating when you should refresh your Whiteboard to see any new changes.
- You will now be able to enter dollar amounts for your Seller’s ownership for 1099 documents! On the Primary Seller Screen, you will see two options: PCT and AMT. Whichever option you choose, will dictate what fields you see for the Co-Sellers. If you choose to enter AMT, you will want to fill in the dollar amount for the other Co-Sellers as well, just like you do for the %. This will transfer over to the Form 1099-s, 1099 Summary and 1099 Submission.
- Some users in Shiny noticed, if they had the column Seller/Borrower, that it didn’t line up like Borrower/Seller. This has been resolved and so the formatting is consistent.
- In the Shiny View, you didn’t see any indication that a document you uploaded through the Drop Files button, had completed. The screen will now automatically refresh when the document has finished uploading, so you can see it in the file.
- We have made some improvements on the Reconciliation Feature, to allow users to use that for Daily Clearing, instead of using the Clear Bank Entries Screen. The benefit to this, is this that you can see your balances on the screen, to know if you are missing any items.
- Some users were experiencing an issue when trying to change the Endorsement Charges for some underwriters. When the user would enter the new price and update the Title Policy Screen, it reverted the amount back to the original amount. This has been resolved. PLEASE NOTE, you still are unable to change % based endorsements, as these are calculated based on the % of the premium and cannot be changed, we will automatically recalculate the amounts.
- If your User Settings are set to allow you to edit File Summary Notes, users in Shiny may have noticed there was no Edit button. Now, if you click on a note, you can click Edit Note, and edit it and save changes. If you need to delete the note, simply remove all information in the Note, and update and it will delete.
- If you enter a file number that doesn’t exist, in Shiny, you will now get a message that says “ No files were found searching for ‘______’. “

We have some exciting new features to tell you about! If you have questions about any of the new features, please feel free to reach out to Support and we will be more than happy to assist you!
1) We have made a couple of changes in regard to the Ernst Lookup Screen!
- A) When you use the Ernst Lookup Screen; entering your numbers and answering questions, when you go back the screen, you will notice two things. The first is that the selections you made the last time will still show and the second is that it will display the last time you did a lookup.
- B) If you use the Ernst Lookup Screen, then make changes to the Purchase Price or the Loan Amount, we will still alert you that you need to recalculate the Ernst Lookup, but we now will highlight the recording section on the HUD/CD in yellow. This will alert you that you made a change to the file that effects the recording calculations and you need to recalculate them in the Ernst Lookup screen.
2) We have enhanced the Check Register Query to allow you to search Reference Numbers for posted receipts. Previously, you could only search disbursements, but we have opened it up to allow you to search receipts as well!
3) We have added a new field to the Payoff Master and Payoff Information Screen, allowing you to enter an email address for your Payoff records. This will allow you to easily email Payoff letters in Document Management, without having to search for and type in their email address each time. There are two ways you can update/add the email address. The first is as you are entering a new payoff, enter the email address and you will see a button to “Update Remit to Information” and this will update the Payoff Master Record for you, for future files. The next is directly in the Payoff Master, which can be accessed by going from your Whiteboard to Back Office/Misc Menu and then Manage Payoff Master.
4) We have updated the Information Message on the Create File Screen, if you have a file already created, with a similar borrower name. This informational message used to pop up once the file was already created, but this will give you the information before hand, so you can decide if you want to proceed with creating the file. We have also improved the Property Search as well, so if you enter an address and zip code, and it matches another one on file, it will display a message as well.
5) The Search feature on the Whiteboard should show you a more relevant list then before.
6) We are continuing to update Endorsements for various underwriters and states. Please make sure you are using the Commitment Effective Date so that your current files aren’t effected by the changes.
7) We were made aware of a rule change for the CD, pertaining to when the AP table should be disclosed. We have updated the CD, so the AP table will only appear when the Interest Type is a Balloon or 2-Step.
8) For users with The Fund, a division of the Underwriter, Old Republic National Title Co. we have updated the icons in Classic View for the BPO Whiteboard and Policy Payment Whiteboard.
9) For users with The Fund, a division of the Underwriter, Old Republic National Title Co. we will now also remove any special characters from the file names before you upload them through the integration.
10) We have increased the size of the documents allowed for Drag and Drop Documents to 33MB!
11) We have limited the file extensions you are able to upload to a file to :-pdf, -txt, -doc, -docx, -png, -rtf, -gif, -jpegs, -tif, and -html .
Thursday, November 14th, 2019
We made an improvement to the Excess Deposit line on the CD so that the description can be modified without impacting Escrow Accounting or the ALTA Settlement Statement. In the past, modifying the description would have resulted in the ALTA Settlement Statement and Escrow Accounting screens to not properly account for the Excess Deposit.

We have some exciting new features to tell you about! If you have questions about any of the new features, please feel free to reach out to Support and we will be more than happy to assist you!
- Although we don’t recommend using Internet Explorer, as it is no longer being supported by Microsoft, we have updated the First American Policy Upload integration to allow you to load a policy from your Local File. We have also limited the types of files you can send over, to ensure the right file type gets uploaded. The document types that are allowed are; .PDF, .DOC, .DOCX, and .RTF.
- We have updated the Branch Product Orders integration with The Fund, a division of the Underwriter, Old Republic National Title Co., to have the “need by date” show business days.
- For users with The Fund, a division of the Underwriter, Old Republic National Title Co, we have updated the File Summary Page to now show the Shipping Labels.
- We have added a new way to set your file numbers when you create your first file for the new year! When you go to Create File or Copy to New File, you will be given 3 options for file numbers:
- a) Reset to 1 (this will start your file numbers to 2020-1)
- b) Continue from current (if you ended 2019 with file 2019-123, your new file will be 2020-124)
- c) Start at ____ (you can select what number you want them to start at, for instance, 2020-1000)
Please note that you can’t have numbers with preceding zeros, if you enter 001, we will start you at 2020-1.
You can also call our support line and we can set this for you as well.
5) We have completed the Fund Policy Upload Integration with The Fund, a division of the Underwriter, Old Republic National Title Co. This will allow you to upload your Policies from your Local File, Scanned/Saved within your ECDT File or from Generate Documents.
6) We continue to update the Endorsement Lists in various States and with various Underwriters. Please make sure you are using the Commitment Effective Date Field, so that you get the proper list.
Monday, November 4th, 2019
We have added a new question in Lookup Ernst for MA ( Duke County Only): “ Is the buyer(s) eligible for the first-time home buyer exemption?”
If it is YES/True, it will exempt the first $480,000 of the Estimated Value from the 2% Land Bank Tax.
A NO answer applies the 2% tax to the whole Estimated Value.

- We have renamed Clear Field Modified Flags to Clear Manual Entry, to help it be a little more intuitive as to how to clear out manual changes on the HUD and CD (lines in green).
- We have added the CPL fee to automatically populate to the HUD/CD if you generate a CPL with Old Republic in NC, via the integration.
Also, we are continuing to update the Endorsement Lists in E-Closing, so please make sure you are using Commitment Effective Dates, so that your current files aren't affected when the list gets updated.

In your Boilerplates, if you enter text and surround it with double square brackets, you will get fill-in areas on the Text Description Screen. For example, if you want the Recording Date and Time in a boilerplate, in "Manage Boilerplates" put [[Date Recorded]] and [[Time Recorded]] like below:
A mortgage from <<Borrower_names_anded>>, recorded on [[Date Recorded]] at [[Time Recorded]].
Now, in a file, chose the Text Description you want it to go in (Insured Mortgage/Assignment), chose the Group you put the Boilerplate in, then chose the Boilerplate and the screen will look like this:
Simply type the date in the "Date Recorded" box and the "Time Recorded" box and hit tab, and the information will fill out as follows:

We have some exciting new features to tell you about! If you have questions about any of the new features, please feel free to reach out to Support and we will be more than happy to assist you!
- We have made a few updates to the Common Report that you can access in ReportWriter. We have added the ability to pull the status of the file. You can have it pull ALL, Active, Closed or Cancelled. You can also add that as one of the columns, so if you select “ALL”, then you can see the status of each file on the report. We have also added the ability to use the File ID (the automatic file number) or the Lookup Number (your custom file number). We have also added “Title Processor” to the list to chose from.
- We are continuing to update Endorsements for all underwriters and states. Please make sure you are using the Commitment Effective Date on the Title Policy Screen. We use that date to make updated rates and endorsements only effect files after a certain date. If you don’t enter a date, you will get the most up-to-date, which can cause changes in your current files.
- If you enter Flood Insurance in to the Insurance Information Screen, we will now auto-populate it to Section G (1000), similar to how the Homeowner’s Insurance functions.
- On August 1 st , we released the new Stewart Jacket Integration. You can now generate Jackets, as well as CPLs directly in your E-Closing File.
- We have updated the Old Republic EZ-Jacket integration so that CPL fees will be sent to EZ-Jacket when CPL's are generated through E-Closing.
- You can now switch between Classic and "Shiny" without having to Log out and Log back in.

We have some exciting new features to tell you about! If you have questions about any of the new features, please feel free to reach out to Support and we will be more than happy to assist you!
- Under Whiteboard Setup, we have added an additional filter, “Use Attorney”. This functions the same way as “Use Team” or “Use Processor” but you can have it filter out by the attorney associated with the file.
- We have added the Payoff Description to the File Summary Screen, so you can see at a glance what each payoff record is for.
- In the Text Message and Email users get informing them they have an unread message in the portal, it now references the file number and the street address.
- We will now alert users with The Fund, a division of the Underwriter, Old Republic National Title Co., if when entering a Lookup number, if any characters you are trying to use aren’t accepted. That field only accepts alphanumeric characters, dashes, underscores and periods.
- When using Checklists, if your event has a Schedule Completion based on the Close Date, if you update the Close Date in the file, and the event hasn’t been completed yet, we will update the Scheduled Completion Date automatically for you.
- Great news! When using the CATIC integration, when you void a CPL, it will now void it on CATIC’s side as well. Previously, it would be voided in E-Closing, but you would still have to log on to CATIC’s site and void it there as well. Now, with the click of a button, it will be voided on both sides!
- As members of The Fund, a division of the Underwriter, Old Republic National Title Co., you will have stock boilerplates to help fill out your Commitment and Policies that will be updated yearly. These boilerplates will not be allowed to be changed, and will be marked with (Read Only) next to the name. You can view them, but are not allowed to make changes to them. You will be able to create your own boilerplates, which won’t be effected by the yearly updates, however.
Finally, we continue to stress the importance of secure communication through our Closing Portal. If you haven't tried it out we would highly encourage you to do so and to start using the closing portal for all closing related communication. There has been an increase in targeted phishing attacks aimed at consumers, realtors and settlement agents. Secure encrypted communication, like what is provided through the Closing Portal, is an easy way to protect yourself and your clients. If you have any questions about the Closing Portal we have resources available in our help desk and you are always welcomed to call us for support.

We have some exciting new features to tell you about! If you have questions about any of the new features, please feel free to reach out to Support and we will be more than happy to assist you!
- When generating CPLs with First American, some states have multiple covered parties options; Lender, Buyer/Borrower and/or Seller. With this change, each CPL you generate, will generate a CPL charge (if one is charged in your state) for each CPL. The Lender and Buyer/Borrower will show in Section C of the CD (the 1100 Section on the HUD and GFE HUD) and the Seller fee will show in Section H of the CD (1110 Section on the HUD and GFE HUD)
- We have added a new error message on the Financial Information Screen. If your file is a REFI and you don’t have a Lender selected, we will let you know this and that we can’t calculate the various dates. To resolve, please go to Maintain File/Lender Information and select a Lender from the list. This way we will be able to calculate the Rescission, Disbursement, First Payment Date and Maturity Dates.
- We are continuing to work on updating the Endorsement prices in all states for all underwriters. It is very important that you use the Commitment Effective Date on all of your files, as we load new rates and endorsements based on this date (with very few exceptions). If you do not have a date entered here, the latest list will appear, which will uncheck all previously selected endorsements. We are making these changes as part of enhancements to some integrations, and also to make sure the latest list of endorsements is available.
Thursday, June 6th 2019
- When you generate a CPL for CATIC files using the integration in MA, a $25 CPL charge will now appear on your Settlement Statement, effective June 1st.

- For clients with The Fund, a division of the Underwriter, Old Republic National Title, on the Title Policy Screen, in the Prior Policy Section, instead of the Underwriter field being fillable, you can simply select from an Underwriter already in your Rolodex.
- We have added an informational message to the Title Policy Screen as well. In the Prior Policy Section, we added the note “This data is just informational and is not used in policy calculations.” This was to help with some confusion when entering information for the Prior Policy. As always, if you need to provide a discount on the policy, please be sure to enter it at the top of the page, where the Premiums get entered.
- We have updated the NH DRA forms, CD-57-P and CD-57-S to generate additional forms if there are more than two Purchasers (P) or Sellers (S).
